All I did was plug it into a USB port & the WindowsXP program loaded. Since my new computer didn't have a floppy drive, I was without any way to retrieve all those pictures of my family from the mid '90's. & I was off & running. I would have them developed & put on a floppy. This was just what the Doctor ordered to save that data on newer technology.CD's/DVD's. I was able to save the data on 3 dozen floppy's without even a "burp" in the drive. I would recommend this for anyone with the same delema I was in.
Best price I found on any website, Excellent value and product. Allowing me to copy and save old documents and spreadsheets on floppy disks to an external hard drive. Highly recommend this product. Why pay more for more expensive for external floppy disk drives.
Seemed to work fine, but remember if you have a Mac you need to buy Mac formatted disks if you do not have the capabilities to do it.Will only save 2 average pictures, so don't buy it for that type of storage.but is great for any text documents, etc., you need to save.
The two foot attached USB cable is adequate for my needs. It is good to use floppy disks again. While it isn't listed on the box, this is compatible with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition. This is truly a plug and play device and it lines itself up in the A-drive within seconds. You can't beat the price on this little workhorse, either.
was not compatible with Vista and could get NO help from the manufacturer. had to return it.
